LFC International Academy Thailand (LFCIATH) gave its young players a memorable day out on Thursday 21 May 2026, bringing ten players and their parents to the official Liverpool FC Legend Meet & Greet and 2026/27 Home Kit Launch at Discovery Plaza, Siam Discovery, Bangkok.
The event was headlined by Dirk Kuyt — the Dutch forward who spent six seasons at Anfield and earned legendary status among Liverpool supporters worldwide for his relentless work ethic and big-game contributions. For the LFCIATH players, it was a rare chance to meet someone who lived the Liverpool FC dream firsthand.
The kids got stuck in — photos, autographs, high-fives, the lot. For young players who train within the Liverpool FC system every week, getting that kind of up-close access to a genuine club legend is an experience that sticks.
One of the highlights of the day came when the players got the chance to ask Dirk Kuyt a question directly — something every young footballer wants to know: what does it take to make it?
His answer was straightforward: enjoy it. Enjoy every training session, every match, every moment on the pitch. Give it everything you have, but never lose the fun. Because if you’re not enjoying it, it shows — and if you are, that shows too.
The group was led on the day by the Academy’s Head Coach, joined by Coach Zico — Kiatisak Senamuang, Academy Director of LFCIATH, whose own legendary career in Thai and Asian football made the occasion all the more fitting.
Alongside the Meet & Greet, the event also featured the official announcement of The Kop Run — Liverpool FC’s upcoming run event, set to take place in Thailand for the first time.
The day was a success on every level, reflecting the strong and growing Liverpool FC fanbase in Thailand. For those who missed it, the Liverpool FC Pop-Up Store at Discovery Plaza continues until 7 June 2026, with the new 2026/27 Home Kit available to pick up in store.
